Step-by-Step EMV Setup
Firewalls should accept traffic on port 9000 & 9100  
Step 1 Order a Verifone VX 805 PINpad for each of your POS stations. (503) 661-6668
Step 2
Contact your Mercury representative and ask for a new EMV Merchant ID.  
Also request an "Deployment ID" for EACH of your POS stations.
Step 3
Click here to download and then select "Run" to install Verifoneís USB driver on each POS station.
After the driver is installed, plug-in your VX-805 PINpad into an available USB port on your computer.
Step 4A
Click here to download and then select "Run" to install DataCapís PDCX drivers on each POS station.
Step 4B
Click here to download and then select "Run" to install DataCapís dsiEMVUS drivers on each POS station.
Step 5
Click here to download NETePay Mercury US EMV.  Run/double-click the downloaded file to install it.
 
*** Reboot computer after this step is complete. ***
Step 6
Exit all Retail Solution programs on all stations. Then Click here and select "Run" to download and
install the latest build of The Retail Solution on all stations. NOTE: Customers must have The Retail
olution 12.0 and currently be covered under technical support.  *** A password is required. ***
Step 7 Start the Managerís Workstation and log in.
Step 8 From the Main Menu, select Control:Company Information.
Step 9
Select the Credit Card Processing tab.
Step 10
From the drop-down "Processing Software" list, select "Mercury Payment (EMV)"

Set Server URL to "127.0.0.1".
Step 12

 

Enter your new EMV Merchant ID for both regular and Webstore sales.

NETePay is a separate program that runs in the background on each POS
station to process EMV transactions.  It should be running at all times.
 
 
To start NETePay, locate the icon on your desktop and double-click it.
Step 14

 

The first time you start NETePay there is a one-time setup process.
A. Click the option "Obtain Serial Number".
B. Keep clicking "Ok" until you get to the following screen.
Click the "Setup" option.  
C. Click on the "Load New Parameters" option.  
 
 D. Click "Yes".
E. Click "I Have My Deployment ID"
 
F. Enter the Deployment ID you received from Mercury Payment Systems.
Note: A unique deployment ID MUST be used on each station.
G. Click Yes.
 
H. Click "Yes, This is the Correct Merchant".
 
NOTE: This program needs to be running at all times but it can be minimized.
 
The one-time NETePay setup process is now complete.
Step 15 Start the PowerStation, log in and select a drawer.
Step 16 From the menu bar (top of the screen), select Options:Control Room.
Step 17 Select the Other Devices tab.
Step 18
Select the PIN Pad option. Select "EMV_VX805_MERCURY" from the drop-down list.
Click the Device Setup button and select the serial port for your PIN pad.
(Only available ports will be highlighted, and in most cases the correct port will not be "COM 9".)
Click the Test button to verify your PINpad is set up correctly.
      
Step 19
A mandatory part of the EMV specifications is to include specific EMV credit card information
on the customer and store copy receipt. To make this easy, The Retail Solution refers to this as
information as the EMV Print Block.  In the PowerStation receipt setup, be sure to include the
EMV Print Block on both a "Normal sale" and "Credit card sale" receipt layout.  Be sure to remove all previously set up credit card fields.  For example: card number, expiration date, signature line, etc.

Step 20
To ensure your VeriFone VX-805 is running the latest software, run the "EMV ParmDownload"
option in the PowerStation.
 
 
Step 21
Since so much of the EMV setup process is out of our control, we created an EMV Setup Test
program.  It ensures ten different potential problem areas are set up and working correctly.  When an
error is detected, it also gives recommendations on how to correct it.  From the PowerStation main screen, select "Help" and then "EMV Setup Test".
